Mexico City - My Neighborhood reco for a weekend !

The best time to go to Mexico City is right around Day of the Dead. The city becomes incredibly vibrant with celebrations and altars everywhere, the weather is perfect, and it often coincides with the excitement of the Mexican Grand Prix. It’s one of those rare moments where culture, energy, and atmosphere all come together.

Mexico City is one of those places that reveals itself slowly. It’s vibrant, layered, and full of contrasted historic buildings next to contemporary galleries, street food stalls beside trendy restaurants. The best way to experience it is simply by moving through its neighborhoods.

MORNING : EXPLORE

Start the day slowly in Condesa. Tree-lined avenues, Art Deco buildings, and parks where people linger for hours make it the perfect morning setting. I love stopping by Molino El Pujol, where everything revolves around heirloom corn and beautifully simple Mexican flavors.

AFTERNOON : SAVOURY & FASHION

If you’re craving seafood, head to De Costa a Costa in the Nápoles neighborhood — a lively local institution celebrating coastal Mexican cuisine.

Special note: their ceviche is a must.

Roma Norte is also where I love to wander during the day, between cafés, galleries, and small boutiques, vintage stores (MUST GO TO VINTAGE HOE). It’s one of the best neighborhoods in the city for discovering independent designers and concept stores.

AFTER DARK

In the evening, come back to Roma Norte. Creative, lively, and full of beautiful architecture, it’s the kind of area where the energy shifts as night falls. Places like Cometa are perfect if you want to end the night dancing.

SLEEP

We did a home exchange and it was a dream :)
